We hope you have had a wonderful start to the second semester! This part of the year always seems to move quickly, so it is important for students to stay on top of their assignments and continue building strong habits for success.
Last week, our counseling team sent out information regarding credit recovery for students who were assigned to this program due to failing a class during the first semester and/or in their 7th-grade year. Credit recovery takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, depending on your student’s assigned day. If you received a credit recovery notice and have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our counselors for support.

These opportunities are a wonderful way for students to receive extra academic support through tutoring and intervention, explore new interests, and stay connected with friends after the school day ends. The best part? It’s not too late for students to join—everyone is welcome!
We are also looking forward to our upcoming Canvas Painting Night hosted by Ms. Calderon this week. This is always a student favorite! Tickets are available through the PBIS store and tend to sell out quickly due to limited space, so be sure to secure a spot as soon as possible.

We had an awesome first week back at RMS! It was so great to welcome students back to campus as we jump into the second semester with renewed energy and focus.
While this is a fresh semester, I always encourage students to approach it the same way—start strong. This is a new opportunity to set goals, build positive habits, and push for strong grades and positive behavior. While the phrase “new year, new you” might sound a little cheesy, the truth is that this new semester gives us a real chance to reset, refocus, and finish the year stronger than ever as we work toward achieving our goals.

Congratulations to our very own Dylan Leon, who was awarded Student Athlete of the Month! Dylan shines as the Boys Volleyball team’s setter, known for his explosive plays and leadership on and off the court. Averaging eight strong attacks per match and leading with dedication, positivity, and sportsmanship, he’s truly the glue of the team.
Dylan also excels academically with a high GPA and is praised by teachers for his maturity and drive. As he prepares for high school, he plans to pursue football, baseball, and eventually a career in sports psychology—all while chasing his dream of playing professional baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
